<p>Objective: This study aims to evaluate musculoskeletal disorders and workplace ergonomic factors among administrative staff and medical secretaries working at a teaching and research hospital.Materials and Methods: Data were collected from a research group consisting of medical secretaries and administrative office staff using a total of 72 questions derived from a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire, and the Workplace Ergonomics Scale. The data were analyzed using the SPSS v25 software package. Results: Among hospital desk workers, the most common areas where issues (pain, ache, discomfort) were experienced in the last 12 months were the lower back (80.6%), neck (78.4%), and upper back (76.3%). The lower back was identified as the region that most frequently hindered work due to pain, at a rate of 48.9% (n=68). The mean Workplace Ergonomics Scale score of the participants was 2.80±0.90; this mean score was statistically significant higher in the group aged over 40 and among participants who did not experience symptoms. Conclusion: It was concluded that musculoskeletal disorders are highly prevalent among administrative personnel and medical secretaries working at desks, particularly concentrated in the lower back, neck, and back regions. These disorders were found to be more common among individuals with lower workplace ergonomics scale scores. It is suggested that prolonged static posture, repetitive movements, and ergonomically inadequate working conditions play a critical role in the development of these musculoskeletal complaints.</p></trans-abstract>
