                                                                                                <abstract><p>Bu makale, Jon Krakauer’in Yabana Doğru (Into the Wild) adlı eserinden hareketle Christopher McCandless’ın yaşam hikayesini, Sean Penn tarafından aynı adla sinemaya uyarlanan film aracılığıyla incelemektedir. Çalışma, söz konusu anlatıyı son yıllarda gelişen ‘‘ekolojik erkeklikler’’ (ecological masculinities) kuramsal çerçevesi doğrultusunda çözümlemeyi amaçlamaktadır. McCandless’ın modern toplumdan ve onun materyalist değerlerinden kaçışı, yaygın olarak romantik bir macera, trajik bir hata veya hegemonik erkekliğin yıkıcı bir tezahürü olarak yorumlanmıştır. Bu çalışma ise onun yolculuğunu, ekolojik erkekliklerin temel prensipleri üzerinden okuyarak yeni bir bakış açısı sunmayı hedeflemektedir. Bununla birlikte McCandless’ın eylemleri, geleneksel erkeklik kodlarını ne ölçüde sorguladığı ve ekolojik bir erkeklik idealine ne kadar yaklaşıp ondan ne kadar uzaklaştığı da analiz edilmiştir. Bu çözümlemede, hem karakter diyaloglarına odaklanan anlatı çözümlemesi hem de film kareleri ve sahne kompozisyonlarını merkeze alan görsel analiz yöntemlerinden yararlanılmıştır.</p></abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <trans-abstract xml:lang="en">
                            <p>This article examines the life story of Christopher McCandless as depicted in Jon Krakauer’s Into the Wild, through its cinematic adaptation directed by Sean Penn under the same title. The study aims to analyze the narrative within the theoretical framework of ‘‘ecological masculinities,’’ a concept that has gained scholarly traction in recent years. McCandless’s rejection of modern society and its materialistic values has often been interpreted as a romantic adventure, a tragic misjudgment, or a destructive expression of hegemonic masculinity. This study, however, offers a new perspective by reading his journey through the lens of ecological masculinities. It further investigates the extent to which McCandless’s actions challenge traditional masculine codes and how closely they align with-or diverge from-the ideal of ecological masculinity. The analysis employs both narrative analysis, focusing on character dialogues, and visual analysis, concentrating on film frames and scene compositions.</p></trans-abstract>
