                            <p>Yarns, the base material of the textile sector, are generally produced as single plied on the spinning systems. Those single ply yarns shall have limited physical properties due to some technical limitations. However, the expectations of physical properties from the yarn structures are increasing from day to day. For this reason those yarns, produced as single ply, can not fulfill the physical requirements in some situations. Nowadays, to solve this problem, folding and twisting processes are frequently being used to improve the physical properties of yarn structures. In this study, the properties of single ply ring spun yarns, which have the same production parameters but are of different fibre blends, are investigated after to the direct twisting process and the changes in the properties are examined. As a result of the study, unevenness (U%), coefficient of variation(CV%) and the hairiness (S3) values are seen to improve for all sample groups but the yarn imperfections, tensile strength and breaking elongation (%) values do not provide any improvement for any of the fibre blends.</p></trans-abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <abstract><p>Tekstil sektörünün temel materyali olan iplik, eðirme sistemlerinde genellikle tek kat olarak üretilmektedir. Bu tek kat ipliklerin bazý teknik sýnýrlamalar sebebi ile gösterebilecekleri fiziksel özellikler sýnýrlý olabilmektedir. Bununla birlikte gün geçtikçe iplik yapýlarýndan beklenen fiziksel özelliklerde artmaktadýr. Bu nedenle tek kat olarak üretilen ipliklerin fiziksel ihtiyaçlarý tam olarak karþýlayamadýðý durumlar oluþabilmektedir. Günümüzde bu sorunu gidermek amacýyla katlama ve büküm prosesleri iplik yapýlarýnýn fiziksel özelliklerini geliþtirmek adýna sýkça kullanýlan iþlemler haline gelmiþtir. Bu çalýþmada, farklý harmanlarda ve ayný üretim parametreleri ile üretilmiþ olan tek kat ring ipliklerinin direkt büküm iþlemi sonrasýnda özelliklerinde meydana gelen deðiþiklikler deneysel olarak incelenmiþtir. Çalýþma sonucunda büküm iþlemi, düzgünsüzlük (%U), düzgünsüzlük katsayýsý (%CV) ve tüylülük (S3) deðerlerinde tüm numune gruplarý üzerinde iyileþtirme gösterirken, iplik hatalarý, kopma mukavemeti ve kopma uzamasý (%) deðerlerinde tüm harman gruplarý için iyileþtirme saðlayamadýðý görülmüþtür.</p></abstract>
