<p>Nursing is a practical profession in which theoretical knowledge is transformed into clinical skills; therefore, the use of innovative approaches in education is of great importance. The rapid advancement of science and technology has also been reflected in the knowledge and practices within the field of nursing. These developments in technology and education have provided an opportunity for the widespread adoption of simulation practices and tools, which are considered reliable educational methods. Simulation-based applications allow students to experience real-life situations in a virtual or artificial environment without being exposed to the risks of actual clinical practice. Therefore, simulation-based education aims to teach clinical skills in a safe environment based on competency principles. The use of simulation in nursing education contributes to students’ learning and professional skills, enhances their clinical competence, and enables them to gain experience without compromising patient safety. It also helps increase students’ self-confidence and supports the development of their manual skills, teamwork, communication, and decision-making abilities. Furthermore, the regular feedback they receive allows them to evaluate their own performance effectively. However, simulation-based education does not always fully reflect real clinical experiences. It also has some disadvantages, such as high implementation costs, limited authenticity of human interaction, and the need for educator training. Nevertheless, due to its multifaceted benefits for students, simulation-based education is recommended as an effective teaching method in nursing education and should be more widely implemented.</p></trans-abstract>
