<p>Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of teaching methodology on participant satisfaction in the “Blood Gas Analysis” session of the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) Adult Advanced Life Support (ALS) courses. Method: Prior to the 2023 ERC Course update, the session was delivered as a large-group theoretical lecture; following the update, it was restructured into small-group discussions. This cross-sectional study included six ERC Adult ALS courses conducted across Türkiye, involving a total of 188 physicians. At the end of the course, participants completed a questionnaire including demographic data and satisfaction ratings. Satisfaction was graded on a 5-point Likert scale (1 = not satisfactory, 5 = completely satisfactory). Results: In three courses, the session was delivered in a lecture format (Group 1), while in the remaining three, it was conducted as small-group discussions (Group 2). All participants had prior knowledge of blood gas evaluation. Findings demonstrated a higher rate of maximum satisfaction in the small-group discussion format (75.5%) compared to the lecture format (57.4%). Conclusion: The results indicate that modifying the teaching strategy positively influences participant satisfaction and support the broader implementation of active learning approaches in ALS education.</p></trans-abstract>
