One of the most important concerns of today's societies is that future generations have difficulties in resources and the sustainability of these resources cannot be achieved. Different efforts have been made to ensure the sustainability of resources, and different philosophies have been adopted as a result of these efforts. One of the philosophies that have been highly embraced by societies and have reflections on tourism has been its slow movement. With the effect of its slow movement on different areas, the slow city movement has emerged. Slow city philosophy also adopted by Turkey. This philosophy has many prerequisites and applications to be fulfilled. The aim of this research is to determine the views of the stakeholders in Persembe, which is a slowcity, towards slow city implementations and approaches and to reveal their expectations for tourism development. It is thought that the research will contribute theoretically and practically to the slow city stakeholders and the tourism sector. The case study, which is a qualitative research design, was used to determine the views on the implementations in the Perşembe. Document review and interview technique was used as data collection. In the study, 10 participants from different professions were reached and qualitative data were collected. The obtained data were analyzed with the content analysis strategy. In forming the research questions, first of all, the closed code system was used and main themes and sub-themes were determined in line with the literature. In addition, the main themes and sub-themes were re-evaluated using the open code system in the light of the data from the participants. According to the analysis results, the most recurring main theme was the slow city perception. The most recurring sub-themes were found to be negative perception / non-adoption, expectations for tourism development, ideas and expectations for investment. As a result of the findings, suggestions were made to the local administrations and practitioners of the destinations that adopt the slow city philosophy and to the districts that want to get the title of slow city.
Günümüz toplumlarının önemli endişelerinden biri gelecek nesillerin kaynaklar konusunda sıkıntı yaşaması ve bu kaynakların sürdürülebilirliğinin sağlanamamasıdır. Kaynakların sürdürülebilirliğinin sağlanması amacıyla farklı çabalar ortaya çıkmış bu çabaların sonucunda da farklı felsefeler benimsenmiştir. Toplumlar tarafından oldukça benimsenen ve turizme de yansımaları olan felsefelerden biri ise yavaş hareketi olmuştur. Yavaş hareketinin farklı alanlara etkisi ile yavaş şehir akımı ortaya çıkmıştır. Türkiye’de sakin şehir olarak benimsenen bu felsefenin birçok ön koşulu ve yerine getirilmesi gereken uygulamaları bulunmaktadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı sakin şehir olan Perşembe’deki paydaşların sakin şehir uygulamalarına ve yaklaşımlarına yönelik görüşlerinin belirlenmesi ve turizm gelişimi için beklentilerin ortaya koyulmasıdır. Araştırmanın sakin şehir paydaşlarına ve turizm sektörüne teorik ve pratik açıdan katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir. Perşembe’deki uygulamalara yönelik görüşlerin belirlenmesi için nitel araştırma deseni olan durum araştırmasından yararlanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak doküman inceleme ve görüşme tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada farklı meslek gruplarından 10 katılımcıya ulaşılmış ve nitel veriler toplanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler içerik analizi stratejisi ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sorularının oluşturulmasında öncelikle kapalı kod sisteminden yararlanılmış ve literatür doğrultusunda ana temalar ve alt temalar belirlenmiştir. Bununla birlikte elde edilen veriler ışığında açık kod sistemiyle ana temalar ve alt temalar yeniden değerlendirilmiştir. Analiz sonuçlarına göre en çok tekrar eden ana tema sakin şehir algısı olmuştur. En çok tekrar eden alt temaların ise olumsuz algı/ benimsememe, turizm gelişimi için beklenti, yatırım için fikir ve beklentiler olduğu saptanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular sonucunda sakin şehir felsefesini benimseyen destinasyonların yerel yönetimlerine, uygulayıcılarına ve sakin şehir unvanı almak isteyen ilçelere önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
