                                                                                                <abstract><p>Bu çalışma, son şans turizmine yönelik yapılan araştırmaların mevcut durumunu ortaya koymayı ve buna bağlı olarak gelecekte bu konuda yapılacak çalışmalar için yol çizmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu amaca erişmek için literatür taraması yapılmıştır. İnsanların, yok olma trendine girmiş bir yeri yok olmadan görebilme fırsatını kaçırmamak istemesi üzerine kurulan son şans turizmi, aslında önemli bir paradoksa sahiptir. Turistler yok olmakta olan yeri görmekle birlikte, orasının yok olma sürecini hızlandırmaktadır. Bu konuya yönelik turist, çekicilik ve yerel topluluklar odaklı olmak üzere önemli düzeyde çalışmanın yapılabilmesine yönelik bir potansiyel görülmektedir. Yapılan literatür taraması sonucunda, araştırmaların daha çok kutup ayısı gözlemi destinasyonlarına ve buzulların erimesine konu olan yerlere yönelik olduğu görülmüştür. Ayrıca, son şans destinasyonlarında son şans turizmi motivasyonunun diğer motivasyonlar ile birlikte etkili olduğu görülmüştür. Bu konuya yönelik turist, çekicilik ve yerel topluluklar odaklı olmak üzere önemli düzeyde çalışmanın yapılabilmesine yönelik bir potansiyel görülmektedir.</p></abstract>
