Career counseling theories which are still in use have a basis of person, environment or vocations. Some theories keep supporting the opinions since Parsons which tries to gather the person and adequate vocation together. But all of these theories based on foresight of the adequate vocation for person and in the context of reason and result they act from the assumption that same reasons cause same results. However, most characteristic properties of person and his/her behaviors are contrary to this reason and result idea. To investigate this complex situation career counseling needs a viewpoint which has specific philosophy, concepts and intervention techniques. At this point, it is thought that “chaos theory” has strong basis to be investigated. The purpose of this study is investigating the chaos theory in the context of career counseling and evaluating the career counseling program which was developed with chaos theory in the context of a client. In this study, general structure, basic concepts and techniques of chaos theory were investigated due to literature review and a structured eight-session counseling program was developed. Then program was practiced with a client who experiences problems about her career development. Client’s situation was analyzed in context of chaos theory based on case investigation method. At the end of the program change in client’s decision making strategy was observed and she changed her existing career plan and put in to practice

içinde her zaman aynı sebeplerin aynı sonuçları doğuracağı varsayımından hareket etmektedir. Oysa
