ABSTRACT Tarık Buğra’s novel titled Gençliğim Eyvah is a distinguished work with its historical background, the breath of this background and the standpoint towards social issues. Therefore, this study focuses on these prominent features of this novel. The study analyzed primarily the plot and the characters of the novel because of the writer’s effort to make concrete the anarchism, which took place from the era of the Committee of Union and Progress to the 1980s, on the basis of person and action. Places are also analyzed under a different headline because of the writer’s diligence to describe places on which anarchism nourishes. Finally, the codes embedded by the writer in the triangle of event-person-place and left to the youth for the solutions were considered and evaluated by taking into account Buğra’s principles related to life and literature.
ÖZET Tarık Buğra’nın Gençliğim Eyvah başlıklı romanı, tarihsel arka planı, bu planın genişliği ve toplumsal meselelere yönelik bakış açısıyla öne çıkan bir romandır. Bu nedenle çalışmamız, romanın öne çıkan bu özelliklerini tahlile odaklıdır. Yazarın İttihat ve Terakki Fırkası döneminden, 1980’lere dek yaşanan anarşizmi, kişi ve eylem bazında somut kılma çabası nedeniyle, çalışmamızda önce romanın olay örgüsü ve şahıs kadrosu tahlil edilmiştir. Yazarın anarşizmin beslendiği mekânları ifşa etme çabası ise mekânların da ayrı bir başlık altında tahlilini gerekli kılmıştır. Son olarak yazarın olay-kişi-mekân üçgenine yerleştirdiği ve toplumun huzuru için çözümünü gençlere bıraktığı şifreler üzerinde durulmuş, şifreler Buğra’nın hayat ve edebiyatla ilgili ilkeleri dikkate alınarak değerlendirilmiştir. Böylece Buğra’nın insan ve toplum, insan ve edebiyat, edebiyat ve fayda ilişkilerine yönelik düşünceleri de tahlil edilmiştir.
