                            <p>A transportation sector in a modern economy constitutes itself an important  part of economy and also is in relation with a lot of other sectors or it forms the  understructure for them. Being closely connected to technology puts it down into a  continuingly changing and developing structure. This structure also constitutes a  reason for the question of why there are a plenty amount of studies trying to  determine that changes and then evaluate them. One of the aims of this study is to  analyze the arguably most important development in the transportation world in the  last century.  That development is the birth and the later striking development of the air  transportation sector in the second half of the last century and so that its becoming  major actor in the long distance human transportation among the transportation  modes. The shining success of the air transportation sector in the 20th century,  which is very similar to the success of the railway transportation sector in the 19th  century, is taken under economical scrutiny. The important factors we had in this  study are the improvements in the flight safety, quality and the liberalization of the sector, addition to its initial advantage with the velocity factor.  Our study concludes that by the liberalization policies, the competitiveness  factor which is the very basic property of the market has been effective at the  behind of the all economic processes. Concluding the analysis of the important  success story of the air transportation sector, it is evaluated that these findings are valuable not just for transportation sectors but also for service sectors.</p></trans-abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <abstract><p>Günümüzdeki anlamıyla gelişmiş bir ulaştırma sektörü, gerek kendisi ekonominin  önemli bir parçasını oluşturan, gerekse birçok sektörle doğrudan ilişkisi  olan veya onun altyapısını oluşturan bir sektör durumundadır. Ulaştırma sektörünün  ayrıca teknolojiyle yakından ilişkisi onu sürekli değişen ve gelişen bir yapıya sokarken, ekonomik literatürde sektör üzerine yapılan çalışmalar arasında bu değişimin tespiti ve ekonomik performans açısından değerlendirilmesi çalışmalarının  neden oldukça önemli yer tuttuğunun bir açıklaması olmaktadır.  Bu çalışmanın bir amacı, geçen yüzyıl içinde ulaştırma sektörü içerisindeki  belki de en önemli değişim olarak bir havayolu sektörünün ortaya çıkışı ve hızla  gelişmesiyle özellikle insan ulaştırmasında uzun mesafede ulaştırma yükünü taşıyan  ana direk olarak girdiği 21. Yüzyıl başında sektörün durumunu ortaya koymaktır.  Ardından, 19. Yüzyılda demiryolu sektörünün yaşadığı başarının benzerini 20.  Yüzyıl içerisinde gösteren bir Havayolu ulaştırması sektörünün bu çarpıcı başarısı  incelenmektedir.  Çalışmamızda öne çıkan unsurlar, havacılığın başından beri hız faktörüyle  öne çıkması kadar, sektörde kaydedilen uçuş güvenliği, kalite ve pazarın serbestleştirilmesi  gibi unsurların etkili olduğu şeklindedir. Bunun arkasında sektörün pazar  düzenlemeleriyle, ekonomik sistemin özü konumundaki unsurların harekete geçirildiği  ve çalışmamızda yapılan analizde bu unsurların etkisinin bulunduğu değerlendirilmesine ulaşılmaktadır. Sonuç olarak geçen yüzyılın önemli başarı hikâyesinin analizinin, hem ulaştırma sektörünün geneli hem de servis sektörlerine yönelik olarak, uygulamadan gelen önemli sonuçları ortaya koyduğu değerlendirilmektedir.</p></abstract>
