Üniversite mezunlarının sayısının her geçen gün toplumda artması ve istihdam noktasında sıkıntı yaşanmasına bağlı olarak farklı iş alanlarında istihdam edilmeleri söz konusudur. 2005 yılından bu yana üniversite mezunlarının aldıkları lisans eğitimlerinin dışında sınırlı kontenjana bağlı olarak emniyet teşkilatında istihdam edilmelerine imkân sağlanmıştır. Bu açıdan toplumsal düzeni ve halkın güvenliğini sağlayan emniyet teşkilatına, üniversite mezunu polislerin gözünden bakabilmek önemlidir. Bu araştırmada, dört yıllık lisans eğitimi alarak üniversiteden mezun olup emniyet teşkilatına giren polis memurlarının polislik mesleğine uyum sağlayıp sağlamadıklarının, mesleğe bağlı olarak sosyal hayatı nasıl algıladıklarının tespit edilmesi amacıyla 300 anket uygulaması yapılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen veriler ışığında üniversite mezunu polis memurlarının yüksek oranda polisliği içselleştiremedikleri ve fırsatını bulduklarında polislik mesleğinden ayrılmak istedikleri gibi birçok önemli sonuca ulaşılmıştır.
The increasing number of the university graduates in our society, due to issues in providing employment, leads them to be employed in different areas. Since 2005, it has been provided for the university graduates that they, apart from their bachelor’s degree, could be employed in the police department within a limited contingent. At this point, it is significant to be able to look to the police department, which secures public order and safety, from university graduate police officers’ aspects. In this study, 300 questionnaires were distributed to find out whether the police officers, who has become a part of the police force after graduation, could adopt the profession or not; and to examine how they perceive the social life within their profession. Many significant information, such as the university graduate police officers have a high level of lack of interiorizing the profession of police officer and have desire to leave when they take the opportunity, have been acquired in the light of the data in the research,
