<p>The archaeological excavations initiated at Çaltılar Höyük in 2021 yielded significant findings regarding the prehistoric periods of Western Anatolia. Despite the brief duration of the excavations, they revealed a continuous occupation of the mound spanning the Late Chalcolithic, Early Bronze Age, Middle Bronze Age, Late Bronze Age, and Archaic Periods. Given the scarcity of mound excavations in Southwestern Anatolia and the extensive stratigraphy at Çaltılar Höyük, this site is expected to significantly enhance our understanding of Western Anatolian archaeology. The Late Chalcolithic settlement, which is the focus of this article, has so far been found to comprise four architectural phases. While this study primarily examines the Late Chalcolithic architecture of the settlement, comparisons with similar architectural techniques in different regions of Anatolia are intended to elucidate differences in both construction methods and architectural design. Furthermore, it explores the rationale behind the specific construction methods employed by the inhabitants of Çaltılar Höyük and analyzes the overall settlement scheme.</p></trans-abstract>
