Educating for Smart Governance: The CITAI_DATA Approach to Territorial Intelligence

Abstract

The establishment of CITAI_DATA – Center for Applied Intelligence, within the Department of Architecture, Arts and Design at ISMAT, aims to foster interdisciplinary innovation and digital transformation in territorial governance. The study presents the design and implementation of a new Executive Master focused on Smart Territories, integrating ethical, technological, and spatial dimensions. Methodologically, the program combines applied research, digital simulation, GeoAI, and data driven modeling to explore the social, environmental, and governance challenges of intelligent territories. The main results highlight the development of critical and technical competences in digital decision making, urban simulation, and responsible technological design. The study concludes that the program offers an integrated educational framework that aligns ethics, sustainability, and innovation, contributing to the formation of professionals capable of leading fair and data based territorial transformations.
