Although summer learning loss is a study subject for long time ineducational sciences, there are few studies about the reasons and solutions ofit. As continuity and exposition to the language outside the classroom areimportant for English language teaching, summer learning loss becomes moreimportant. The purpose of this case study was to find the opinions and solutionoffers of English teachers. Study group consists of 37 teachers from differentschool levels and having at least 3 years of experience. Semi- constructedinterviews were made to gather data and the data were interpreted withdescriptive analysis method. According to the findings, nearly all of theEnglish teachers share the idea that summer learning loss can be observed instudents’ English knowledge. The English lesson should be evaluated differentthan others with regards to learning loss. Teachers have different views aboutcurriculum and teaching materials. They think that students should be exposedto the English during summer and accordingly, their solutions for learning lossare like summer schools, learning clubs and interactive programs.
</trans-abstract>
