Değer eğitimi dünyanın her yerinde, diğer canlılardan üstün insana özgü ve ideal insan seviyesine ulaşma hedefi doğrultusunda ilerleyen bir eğitim süreci olarak gerçekleştirilmektedir. Şekillendiği kültür içinde gelişen, aktarılan ve şekillendiği kültürü de yönlendirme özelliğine sahip olan değer eğitimi toplumsal refah ve düzene ulaşmayı da sağlamaktadır. Sosyal bilgiler dersi kapsamında gerçekleştirilen değer eğitiminde etkili bir araç olarak kullanılan tarihi romanlar bu eğitim sürecine olumlu katkıları olan içeriklerdir.2025-2026 eğitim ve öğretim döneminde gerçekleştirilen bu araştırmada yakın dönem tarihçilerden Prof. Dr. Ahmet Şimşirgil tarafından kaleme alınan tarihi roman niteliğindeki Kayı Serisi değer eğitimi açısından irdelenmiş olup, bu eğitim perspektifinde önemi tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Nitel araştırma ilkeleriyle hareket edilen çalışmada elde edilen veriler doküman ve içerik analizi metotlarıyla analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; tarihi roman niteliğindeki Kayı Serisi’nin; 2024 Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretim Programında yer alan tüm değerleri bünyesinde barındırdığı ve tüm ciltlerinin toplamında 6893 defa ilgili değerlere değinildiği tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmanın bulgu ve sonuçları Kayı Serisi’nin değer eğitimi sürecinde faydalı ve zengin bir kaynak olduğunu desteklemektedir.
Values education is carried out all over the world as an educational process that progresses towards the goal of reaching the ideal human level, which is unique to humans and superior to other living beings. Value education, which is developed and transmitted within the culture in which it is shaped and has the ability to direct the culture in which it is shaped, also ensures the achievement of social welfare and order. Historical novels, which are used as an effective tool in values education within the scope of social studies course, are contents that contribute positively to this educational process. In this research, which was conducted in the 2025-2026 academic year, the Kayı Series, which is a historical novel written by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Şimşirgil, one of the recent historians, was examined in terms of value education and its importance was tried to be determined in this educational perspective. The data obtained in the study, which was based on qualitative research principles, was analysis using document and content analysis methods. According to the results of the research, it was determined that the Kayı Series, which is a historical novel, includes all the values included in the 2024 Social Studies Curriculum and that the relevant values were mentioned 6893 times in total in all volumes. The findings and results of the research support the fact that the Kayı Series is a useful and rich resource in the value education process.
