Ambalajların geri dönüşüm ve geri kazanılmasıyla tabii kaynaklarımız korunmakta, enerjide tasarruf sağlanmakta ve böylelikle ülke ekonomisine katkıda bulunulmaktadır. Ambalaj Atıklarının Kontrolü Yönetmeliği kapsamında ambalaj malzemelerinin insana ve çevreye zarar vermeyecek türden olması, aynı zamanda geri dönüştürülebilir nitelikteki malzemelerden üretilmesi vurgulanmaktadır. Bu bağlamda ambalaj atıklarının geri dönüşümü ve kazanımıyla sadece ülke ekonomisine katkıda bulunmakla kalınmayıp insanların ve çevrenin sağlığı da korunmuş olur. Nüfusun hızlı artması, teknolojideki gelişmeler ve hayat düzeyinin yükselmesi ile meydana gelen çevresel kirliliğin kontrol edilmesi ve sonuç olarak azaltılması bugünün önemli problemlerindendir. Bundan dolayı belediyeler ambalaj atıklarının geri dönüşümünün sağlanması amacıyla birçok proje ortaya koymuşlardır. Bu çalışmada, Ankara Büyükşehir Belediyesinde ambalaj atıklarının kaynağında ayrı toplanması “Ambalaj Atıkları Yönetim Planı” kurallarına göre ele alınmakta ve kuruluşta ambalaj atıklarının nerede, nasıl, ne zaman ve ne tür bir toplama sistemiyle toplandığına ilişkin genel bilgiler sunulmaktadır. Geri Kazanım Projesi’nin tatbiki Ankara Büyükşehir Belediyesi örneğinde incelenip mali ve çevresel değerlendirmeler yapılmaktadır.
With the recycling and recovery of packaging, our natural resources are protected, energy savings are achieved and thus the country's economy is contributed. Within the scope of the packaging waste control regulation, it is emphasized that the packaging materials should not harm people and the environment, and that they should also be produced from recyclable materials. In this context, recycling and recovery of packaging waste not only contributes to the country's economy, but also protects the health of people and the environment. Controlling the environmental pollution caused by the rapid increase in the population, the developments in technology and the increase in the standard of living is one of the important problems of today. Therefore, municipalities have put forward many projects in order to ensure the recycling of packaging waste. In this study, separate collection of packaging waste at the source in Ankara Metropolitan Municipality is handled according to the rules of "Packaging Waste Management Plan" and general information about where, how, when and with what kind of collection system the packaging wastes are collected in the organization is presented. The implementation of the Recycling Project is examined in the example of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, and financial and environmental evaluations are made.
