<p>The main purpose of this research is to determine the effect of perceived COVID-19 contagion on hygiene behaviors during the 3rd peak period of the epidemic. The population of the research consists of adult individuals aged 18 and over residing in Esenler and Bağcılar districts of Istanbul. The sample of the study consists of 405 participants. Convenience sampling method, one of the non-random sampling techniques, was used in the study. Data were collected by online survey technique. IBM SPSS Statistic Base 23V and AMOS package programs were used in the analysis of the data. Descriptive analyzes, difference analyzes (t-test and ANOVA) and path analysis were applied to the data. With the path analysis, it was seen that the effect of the perceived COVID 19 contagion on the hygiene behavior had an acceptable fit index. At the same time, it was determined that the perceived contagiousness of COVID-19 and hygiene behaviors differed statistically significantly according to some socio-demographic variables. It has been determined that women and individuals with higher education levels attach more importance to hygiene behaviors. The effect of perceived COVID-19 contagion on hygiene behaviors is positive and significant.</p></trans-abstract>
