Enterobius vermicularis in the male urinary tract: Case report
Abstract
Enterobius vermicularis is an intestinal nematode of humans. Transmission with parasites is in direct contact with infected people. Ectopic infections are usually seen in women and genital tracts. We report a case of the patient with pollacuria and dysuria. The patient presented with empirical antibiotic treatment resistant urethtrit. There was anal itching in the patient’s child. Upon this, cellophane test was performed on the child. The microscopic examination of cellophane tape identified the worm as E. vermicularis. E. vermicularis rarely can be seen on the male urinary tract.
