Every aspect of circumcision regarding contemporary literature

Abstract

Circumcision is still one of the most frequently performed surgeries in the world. The procedure is achieved for religious, cultural and medical reasons. Especially in our country, circumcision is perceived as a simple operation. However, serious complications ranging from simple bleeding to death can develop after circumcision. In this study, we aimed to emphasize important details about circumcision.

Abstract

Sünnet hala dünyada en sık yapılan cer­rahi girişimlerden biri olup dini, kültürel ve tıbbi nedenlerden dolayı uygulanmaktadır. Özellikle ülkemizde basit bir operasyon ola­rak algılanmaktadır. Oysa sünnet sonrası, basit kanamadan ölüme kadar uzanabilen ciddi komplikasyonlar gelişebilmektedir. Bu derlemede güncel bilgiler ışığında, sünnet ile ilgili önemli ayrıntıları vurgulamayı amaçla­dık.
