                            <p>Medicinal and aromatic plants, thanks to their pharmacological, aromatic, and aesthetic properties, are among the important species that contribute not only visually but also functionally to landscape designs today. This study was conducted to evaluate the use of medicinal-aromatic plants in coastal landscape arrangements. In the research, two different coastal landscape areas located in the city center of Çanakkale, namely Eski Kordon and Barış Kordonu, were selected as samples. As a result of on-site observations in the areas, a total of 36 plant species were identified, and 52.78% of them were determined to have medicinal-aromatic properties. It was determined that the vast majority of the identified species were used only for medicinal purposes. The remaining plants were found to have both medicinal and aromatic properties or only aromatic properties. The highest percentage of medicinal-aromatic plants, 61.91%, was observed in Eski Kordon coastal area. These results show that medicinal-aromatic species play a significant role in coastal landscape design. The study points to the need to encourage the conscious and systematic use of these species in urban landscape design and provides guiding data for future planning.</p></trans-abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <abstract><p>Tıbbi ve aromatik bitkiler, sahip oldukları farmakolojik, aromatik ve estetik özellikler sayesinde günümüzde peyzaj tasarımlarında yalnızca görsel değil aynı zamanda işlevsel katkılar sunan önemli türler arasında yer almaktadır. Bu çalışma, kıyı alanları peyzaj düzenlemelerinde tıbbi ve aromatik bitki kullanımını değerlendirmek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada, Çanakkale kent merkezinde yer alan Eski Kordon ve Barış Kordonu olmak üzere iki farklı kıyı peyzaj alanı örneklem olarak seçilmiştir. Alanlarda yerinde yapılan gözlemler sonucunda toplam 36 bitki türü tespit edilmiş, bunlardan %52,78’inin tıbbi ve aromatik özellik taşıdığı belirlenmiştir. Tespit edilen türlerin büyük çoğunluğunun sadece tıbbi amaçla kullanıldığı belirlenmiştir. Geriye kalan bitkilerin hem tıbbi hem aromatik ve sadece aromatik özellikte olduğu saptanmıştır. En yüksek tıbbi ve aromatik bitki oranı %61,91 ile Eski Kordon kıyı alanında görülmüştür. Bu sonuçlar, kıyı peyzaj düzenlemelerinde tıbbi ve aromatik türlerin önemli ölçüde yer aldığını göstermektedir. Çalışma, bu türlerin kentsel peyzaj tasarımlarında bilinçli ve sistematik kullanımının teşvik edilmesi gerektiğine işaret etmekte ve gelecekteki planlamalar için yol gösterici veriler sunmaktadır.</p></abstract>
