Book Review Guidelines

Journal of International Relations (Uluslararası İlişkiler) publishes both reviews of individual books and review essays that examine several works related to a single topic. Reviews of individual books should not exceed 1,200 words and review essays should be around 3,000 and 5,000 words in length. Reviews should describe the subject, purpose, and scope of the book, and discuss and evaluate particular strengths or weaknesses of the work. Book reviews and review essays should be prepared based on the original version of the books. If the book(s) is translated into Turkish, this information should be given in a footnote. Individuals who wish to volunteer to be reviewers can contact the Book Review Editor, Dr. Evren Balta at before submitting their work. Confirmation that the book is suitable for review does not guarantee publication of the book review. The Editorial Board reserves the right to decide as to whether or not to publish the review. Reviews should be written in accordance with the journal’s house style.
