Bu makalenin öncelikli amacı, örgütsel analizde kurumsalcı yaklaşımın ortaya çıkış sürecini temel nedenleriyle birlikte açıklamaktır. İkinci önemli amacı ise kurumsalcı yaklaşım geleneği içerisinde değerlendirilen Yeni Kurumsal Kuram’ın örgüt çalışmalarına katkılarını gösterebilmektir. Üçüncü amacı ise yeni kurumsal kuramın öne sürdüğü varsayım ve iddialara hem kuram içinden hem de örgütsel analizdeki diğer kuramlardan yöneltilen bazı temel eleştirileri tartışmaktır. Çalışmada benimsenen yöntem literatür taramasıdır. Çalışma teorik düzeyde yürütülmüş ve Türkçe literatüre teorik düzeyde katkı sunacağı düşünülmektedir.
