Yıl 2019, Cilt: 20 Sayı: 1, 32 - 39, 31.03.2019

Öz

Amaç: Bu araştırmada, elektronik sigara (e-sigara) kullanıcılarının e-sigaraya yönelik tutumlarını ve kullanım alışkanlıklarını değerlendirmek amaçlanmıştır.

Yöntem: Çalışmaya e-sigara kullanan 269 kişi dâhil edilmiştir. Çalışmaya katılanlara e-sigara kullanımlarını incelemeye yönelik, araştırmacılar tarafından oluşturulmuş anket formu uygulanmıştır. Bulgular: Katılımcıların %97’sinin e-sigara kullanmadan önce geleneksel sigara kullandığı, %62.8’inin geleneksel sigarayı bırakmak için e-sigara kullanmaya başladığı,  %34.2’sinin halen geleneksel sigara ile birlikte e-sigara kullandığı, %61.7’sinin 12 aydan uzun süredir e-sigara kullandığı, %51.7’sinin uyandıktan sonra ilk 30 dakikada içerisinde e-sigara kullandığı, %100’ünün e-sigarayı geleneksel sigara kullananlara tavsiye ettiği saptanmıştır.

Sonuç: Bu çalışma, katılımcıların e-sigaraya yönelik tutumlarına ve günlük kullanım alışkanlıklarına dikkat çekmektedir. Katılımcıların e-sigaraya yönelik olumlu tutumları nikotin bağımlılığının tedavisini engelleyici olabilir. E-sigaranın uzun dönem kullanımının insan sağlığı üzerindeki etkilerine yönelik araştırmalar yapmak halk sağlığı açısından önem taşımaktadır.
