Emerson is a Senior Manager and Head of Model Building and Analysis Section, Research Department, Bank of Sierra Leone. Operational role include: (I) managing the development of suite of macro-models for forecasting inflation and its surrounding risks (short, medium and long-term); (ii) coordination of technical and empirical research agenda activities that addresses core objectives pertaining to price and financial stability; and (iii) liaison of ad-hoc assignments in partnership with local and international institutions.
He is passionate about promoting empirical research in alleviating sustained (economic) welfare condition for citizens in the developing world, and Sierra Leone in particular. In fulfilment of such a passion, especially in addressing rural / peri-urban and urban condition for sustained livelihoods, he is undertaking a research in Goderich (Sierra Leone) to assess diverse ways people survive and their implications on the environment. Outcome of this venture, pursued in the Centre of West African Studies, University of Birmingham will supposedly add value to knowledge understanding about household's exploration of survival in a typical peri-urban community like Goderich, where core livelihood assets (notably human, natural, financial, physical and social capital) are in limited supply.
