Bio

Fatma Toköz Göktepe, an ELT professional with over thirteen-year experience in teacher education programmes, received her BA in English Language Education from Girne American University (North Cyprus). She pursued a MA degree with a full scholarship in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from University of Essex (UK) in 2009. After working as an EFL teacher in North Cyprus and Colchester (Essex), she has been working as a lecturer at Çağ University since 2009 and teaching several pedagogical courses at the undergraduate level. She holds a PhD degree in Foreign Language Teaching from Eastern Mediterranean University. Her doctoral dissertation examined teacher identity (re)construction from pre-service to in-service stage focusing on mentoring and conflict settings. She was also the recipient of the Study of the U.S. Institute for Scholars on Contemporary American Literature scholarship awarded by the U.S. Embassy in 2018. Her research areas include teacher education, professional development, teaching English as a Foreign Language, teacher identity construction. Regarding these areas, she has published in internationally recognized journals and presented in international conferences.
