My name is Umar Faruk Saidu and my educational background is in Biochemistry. I attained a first-class honors degree and wrote a thesis titled "Chemical Modification of Ascorbic Acid (AA) to L-ascorbyl-6-palmitate (AP): A Novel Approach For Improved Antioxidant Therapy in Traumatic Brain Injury". My interests are predominantly centered around Cell Biology and Cancer, Oxidative Stress, DNA Damage Response, DNA Repair and Genome Integrity, CRISPR Technology, Epigenetics, Bioinformatics, and Precision Medicine. My curiosity lies in the dysregulation of these pathways in cancer and Neurodegenerative diseases with the perspective of developing innovative therapies. As well as my aptitude for research, my teamwork abilities are profound, accompanied by exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English. Research skills in Animal Models, tissue culture, biochemical methods, and molecular biology techniques. Technical skills include Linux, R/RStudio, Origin, GraphPad Prism, SPSS, and Microsoft Office.
