Uyku ve Uyanıklığın Fizyolojik Temelleri

Abstract

Bütün davranış formları, değişik fonksiyonel
sistemler arasındaki etkileşimlere ve aktivite durumuna bağlıdır. Bu durum,
belirli davranış komponentlerinden sorumlu sistemde optimal hücresel aktiviteye
neden olur. Uyanıklık: psişik, kognitif, motorik ve sempatik fonksiyonel
sistemlerin yüksek derecede aktivitesi ile karakterize fizyolojik bir durumdur.
Uykuda ise durum değişiktir ve fonksiyonel sistemlerin aktivitesinin açık bir
reorganizasyonu söz konusudur. Fizyolojik çerçeve içerisinde bu durum ritmik
bir yol izler ve uyku-uyanıklık şeklinde sirkadiyen bir ritm oluşturur. Uyku
içerisinde ise REM/NREM siklusları şeklinde bir ultradian ritm oluşturur.

Basic Mechanisms of Sleep-Wake States

Abstract

Sleep and wakefulness are among the many functions
of the body that show circadian periodicity. It has been clearly shown that
brain neurotransmitter systems modulate these two states under the influences
of different environmental and physiological conditions. Sleep have two
different components namely REM and NREM fases. Each has very different future
in electrophysiological and motoric concepts. Wakefulness is an active state
and entire motor, cognitive and other biological systems interact differently.
