Facial Nerve Palsy Developing After Face Mask Ventilation

Abstract

Perioperative nerve injury is a rare but known complication. In anesthesia practice, ventilation with a face mask and jaw thrust manoeuvre may cause damage to the branches of the facial nerve. This damage can be temporary, long-term or permanent. In this case, we aimed to present the facial nerve damage that developed after mask ventilation in our patient who underwent cervical polyp extirpation and our interventions for this complication.

Nadir Bir Komplikasyon: Yüz Maskesi ile Ventilasyon Sonrası Fasiyal Sinir Hasarı

Year 2024, Volume: 10 Issue: 2, 377 - 380, 01.05.2024
