Low Latency Routing Protocol For Fanets

Year 2024, Volume: 17 Issue: 1, 56 - 66

Abstract

Before transmitting in a wireless network, the path to send data packets between the source and destination must be determined. In Flying Ad hoc Network (FANET) networks formed by Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), the mobility of UAVs causes the source-target connection to be broken in a short time, and the new transmission path is frequently selected as the existing data path expires. In this study, a new routing protocol for FANET networks is presented, based on the Optimized Link State Routing Protocol (OLSR) protocol, which selects the transmission path according to the link quality with RSSI value. The performance of the proposed routing protocol is compared with OLSR and Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) protocols based on packet delivery rate, routing load and end-to-end delay criteria, and simulation results are presented.

Fanet Ağlar için Düşük Gecikmeli Yönlendirme Protokolü

Year 2024, Volume: 17 Issue: 1, 56 - 66
https://doi.org/10.54525/bbmd.1454548

Abstract

Kablosuz bir ağda iletişim gerçekleştirmeden önce kaynak-hedef arasında veri paketlerinin gönderileceği yolun belirlenmesi gerekmektedir. İnsansız Hava Araçlarının (İHA) oluşturduğu Uçan Tasarsız Ağ (FANET) ağlarda İHA’ların hareketliliği kaynak-hedef arası bağlantının kısa sürede kopmasına, mevcut veri yolunun geçerliliğinin son bulmasıyla sık sık yeni iletişim yolunun seçilmesine yol açmaktadır. Bu çalışmada FANET ağlar için Optimized Link State Routing Protocol (OLSR) protokolüne dayanan, RSSI değerlikli bağlantı kalitesine göre iletişim yol seçimi yapan yeni bir yönlendirme protokolü sunulmaktadır. Önerilen yönlendirme protokolünün başarımı OLSR ve Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) protokolleriyle paket teslim oranı, yönlendirme yükü ve uçtan uca gecikme kriterlerine bağlı olarak karşılaştırılmakta ve simülasyon sonuçları sunulmaktadır.
