Abstract

When we look at the developments and innovations in the 19th century opera, Richard Wagner, who stands out with his "integrated work of art" theory called Gesamtkunstwerk, can be listed as his main acts; He is a composer who made the lighting system on the stage the focal point of the audience, invented the orchestra pit, introduced leitmotifs that he used as the main theme in his works, and received criticism for the political actions he took during his period, the ideas he shared, and his works. As a result of their innovative approach, their actions in the field of opera have become the subject of inspiration for the performing arts and cinema sectors in the future. It is known that Adolf Hitler, who is known for his closeness to Wagnerian opera in Mein Kampf, was influenced by Wagner's operas by watching his first Wagner opera at the age of twelve. In this study, the role of Richard Wagner in the artistic approach of Adolf Hitler during the National Socialist Party period and the opera Die Meistersinger Von Nürnberg were examined.

Nasyonal Sosyalist Parti Dönemi Adolf Hitler’in Propagandalarında Richard Wagner ve Die Meistersinger Von Nürnberg Operası

Abstract

19. yüzyıl operasına gerçekleşen gelişmelere ve yeniliklere bakıldığında gerçekleştirdiği Gesamtkunstwerk adlı “bütünlüklü sanat eseri” teoremiyle öne çıkan Richard Wagner başlıca eylemleri olarak; sahnedeki ışık düzenini sahnenin seyircilerin odak noktası haline getiren, orkestra çukurunu icat eden, eserlerinde ana tema olarak kullandığı leitmotifler getiren ve döneminde gerçekleştirdiği siyasi eylemleri, paylaştığı fikirleri ve eserleriyle eleştiriler almış bir bestecidir. Yenilikçi yaklaşımı sonucu opera alanında gerçekleştirdikleri, ileri dönem için sahne sanatları ve sinema sektörünün de ilham konusu olduğu eylemler haline gelmiştir. Wagner eski İtalyan opera sanatı anlayışına uzak düşen, uzun soluklu ve karakter yapısının geniş olduğu operalar bestelemiş ve bestelediği operaların librettolarını kendisi yazmış olmasının yanında, başta Nietzsche tarafından dini duygulara gömüldüğü, kendi mental ve fiziksel rahatsızlıklarının ardında sağlıklı düşünemediği iddiasıyla eleştirilere maruz kalmıştır. Aynı zamanda eleştiri konularından biri de Adolf Hitler’ın Wagner’e olan yakınlığı ve Wagner’in “saf ırk” konusundaki görüşleridir. Mein Kampf’ta Wagnerci operaya yakınlığıyla bilinen Adolf Hitler’ın on iki yaşında ilk Wagner operasını izleyerek operalarından etkilendiği bilinmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Nasyonal Sosyalist Parti dönemi Adolf Hitler’in sanatsal yaklaşımında Richard Wagner’in bulunduğu rolü ve Nazi Almanya’sı için önem taşıdığı belirtilen Die Meistersinger Von Nürnberg operası incelenmiştir.
