Abstract

Mesiodenses
are teeth or tooth-like structures that are additionally driven or embedded in
addition to normal dentition. The etiology of surplus teeth is not fully known.
Plus teeth can be seen in different age groups in both sexes. An 8-year-old boy
was admitted to our clinic with the complaint of malformations of his teeth and
image. As a result of intraoral and radiographic evaluations, the presence of
mesiodens was detected between the upper permanent incisors. As
the patient was not satisfied with the appearance, it was
decided to withdraw the tooth because the presence of more teeth would create
dental and orthodontic problems. After the tooth extraction, it was followed
periodically and the gap between the teeth started to close. Other dental
procedures were completed during this period. The patient is followed up at
regular intervals.
