Abstract

This study examines the direct water consumption in the tourism facilities of Antalya, which holds a crucial position in Turkey's tourism sector. Direct water consumption is determined by activities in areas such as laundry, kitchen, rooms, common areas, and irrigation water. The main objective of this work is to identify variations in direct water consumption based on the type of facility. For this purpose, water consumption calculations per overnight stay were performed based on data collected from a total of 20 accommodation facilities located in different districts in Antalya, including two 5-star resorts, eight 5-star hotels, eight 4-star hotels, one independent apartment hotel, and one regular apartment hotel. To assess direct water consumption, flow measurements were conducted over three days with a 15-minute interval using a portable ultrasonic flowmeter in a 5-star accommodation facility. The direct consumption of water was measured based on sections within the facility and the distribution of direct water consumption by sections was also evaluated. We concluded that direct water consumption varies between 103 – 1209 L per overnight stay in different type of facilities.

ANTALYA BÖLGESİNDEKİ KONAKLAMA TESİSLERİNDE DOĞRUDAN SU KULLANIMININ İNCELENMESİ
