Japan successfully completed its rapid economic development after the second world war, and today it has become one of the strongest economies in the world. In this study, the Japanese education system is discussed within the historical, economic, and social changes through primary education curriculums. The post-war education systems that are roughly formed by the curriculum loads were scrutinized within 3 periods and discussed in detail by focusing on social issues such as school bullying. However, the curriculum changes and problems such as bullying chronologically occurred at the same periods, and some other socioeconomic variables such as the economic crisis in the mid-90s, and early 2000s or urbanization, and information technology were also effective in the emergence of these problems.
