KKTC'de YAŞAYAN EVLİ BİREYLERİN EŞ TÜKENMİŞLİĞİ VE EVLİLİK DOYUMU ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİ

Abstract

Gerek KKTC istatistik dairesinin web sayfasında verilen istatistiki sonuçlar gerekse Kıbrıs gazetelerinde üst üste haber yapılan boşanma oranları dikkat çekicidir. KKTC, o yıl boşanan sayısının o yıl evlenen sayısına oranı ile dünyanın en fazla boşanma oranına sahip ikinci ülkesi konumuna gelmiştir. Bu araştırmanın amacı, boşanma oranlarının yüksekliği ile dikkati çeken KKTC’de yaşamlarını sürdüren 18 yaş üstü ve evli olan çiftlerin eş tükenmişlikleri ve evlilik doyumları arasındaki ilişkinin tespit edilmesidir. Ayrıca demografik değişkenlerin çiftlerin eş tükenmişlikleri ve evlilik doyumlarını etkileyip etkilemedikleri de araştırılmıştır. Bu kapsamda 228 evli birey (147 kadın, 81 erkek) çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Araştırma verilerinden katılımcıların eş tükenmişlik düzeylerinin ölçeğin standartlarında ortalama tükenmişlik değerlerine yakın olduğu ve evlilik doyumu ortalama değerlerinin de ölçeğin sınıflandırmasına göre “vasat” grubuna girdiği görülmektedir. Araştırma sonucunda evlilikte eş tükenmişliği ile evlilik doyumu arasında negatif yönlü ve anlamlı bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Demografik değişkenlerle test edildiğinde istatistiki olarak anlamlı farklar tespit edilmiştir. Sosyoekonomik durumun iyi olduğu, kök aile üyeleriyle iyi geçinildiği durumlarda hem eş tükenmişliğinin düştüğü hem de bu durumun olumlu yansımaları ile evlilik doyumunun yükseldiği sonucu elde edilmiştir.

The Relationship Between Spousal Burnout and Marital Satisfaction of Married Individuals Living in The TRNC

Abstract

Both the statistical results given on the web page of the TRNC statistics office and the divorce rates in Cyprus newspapers are remarkable. The TRNC has become the second country with the highest divorce rate in the world, with the ratio of the number of divorced that year to the number of marriages that year. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between spouse burnout and marital satisfaction of married couples over the age of 18 living in the TRNC, which stands out with its high divorce rates. In addition, it was also investigated whether demographic variables affect couples' burnout and marital satisfaction. In this context, 228 married individuals (147 women, 81 men) were included in the study. Relational screening method, one of the general screening methods, was used in the research. From the research data, it is seen that the spouse burnout levels of the participants are close to the average burnout values in the standards of the scale, and the average values of marital satisfaction are in the "mediocre" group according to the classification of the scale. As a result of the research, a negative and significant relationship was found between marital burnout and marital satisfaction Statistically significant differences were found when tested with demographic variables. In cases where the socioeconomic status is good and people get along well with root family members, the result is that both spouse burnout decreases and marital satisfaction increases with the positive reflections of this situation.
