Sadiye Velioğlu received her bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in 2006 and earned her master’s and doctoral degrees from the interdisciplinary Materials Science and Engineering graduate program of ITU in 2008 and 2015, respectively. She was invited to lead one of core projects on seawater desalination as a postdoctoral researcher in ITU, which took almost 1.5 years to accomplish. Then, she continued her postdoctoral studies at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), the world’s highest-ranking young university in QS and THE rankings. After spending around 1.5 years in Singapore, she returned to Koç University, a research hub in Turkey. And, after gaining another 1.5-years-long postdoctoral experience in a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions-funded project, Dr. Sadiye assumed an Assistant Professor position in the Institute of Nanotechnology at Gebze Technical University in July 2019. Her research interests are the development of various novel polymeric and composite membranes for energy and environmental applications, and the use of molecular simulation and modeling approaches for fabrication of the best performance membranes in the application of interest.
