Tulin's research interests include the archaeology and history of Anatolia during the late Roman and Early/Middle Byzantine periods with particular focus on routes, communications, settlements and historical geography within the context of transformation and continuity. In her study, Tulin uses GIS technology for the analysis of the spatial distribution of settlements and for mapping routes.
