Cardiovascular diseases are among the noncommunicable diseases that threaten public health in Turkey and worldwide. Poor dietary patterns are a major contributor to the evolution of cardiovascular illnesses, along with tobacco use and physical inactivity. An increased risk of cardiovascular disease is linked to a poor diet. Eight recommendations for improving cardiometabolic health have been provided in this review by considering evidence-based dietary patterns. These recommendations to promote cardiometabolic health include the following: adjust energy intake and maintain a healthy body weight, eat plenty and a variety of fruits and vegetables, choose whole grain foods, healthy sources of protein, and use healthy liquid plant oils, minimize the intake of processed foods, added sugars, and salt. It is believed that increased adherence to these suggestions can contribute to lowering the risk of cardiovascular disease.
