Abstract

Mardin’de İkinci Meşrutiyet’ten önce eşkıyalığa başlayan ve İkinci
Meşrutiyet döneminde de buna devam Ali Batı, Birinci Dünya Savaşı’ndan
sonra tekrar faaliyete geçmiş ve bölgeyi huzursuzluk içinde bırakmıştı.
Mütareke dönemindeki Ali Batı’nın faaliyetleri İngiliz istihbarat subayı
Binbaşı Noel’in bölgeye gelmesiyle paralellik arz etmektedir. İtilâf
Devletleri’nin bölgeye müdahale etmesini önlemek için Osmanlı Devleti
elinden geleni yapmış, ordu ve bölge aşiretlerinin işbirliği sonucu Ali Batı
etkisiz hale getirilmiş ve bölgede sükûnet sağlanarak İtilâf Devletlerinin
müdahalesi önlenmiştir.

A Bandit in the South East of Anatolia During the Armistice of Moudros: Affair of Ali Bati (6 May- 18 August 1919)

Abstract

Ali Batı who was a famous bandit for many years, began to disturb
Nusaybin and Midyat district after the First World War. At the same time,
British intelligence officer Major E.W.C. Noel had come to the region and
his activities and activities of Ali Batı were parallel. When affair of Ali Batı
began, in order to prevent the intervention of the Entente into the region
the Ottomans urgently tried to destroy him. After the collaboration of the
army and regional tribes, Ali Batı’s affair came to end. Thus, the disorder
in the region and the intervention of the Entente were prevented.
