Abstract

Juvenile fibroadenoma is a common cause of breast masses seen in adolescents and young women. Giant juvenile fibroadenomas are usually single and unilateral. The etiology is thought to be due to increased levels of estrogen during adolescence, although it is not yet fully understood.

Treatment options range from simple excision to sub-cutaneous mastectomy according to the size of the lesion. In this paper we are presenting a case of giant juvenile fibroadenoma in a 16 years old girl which was diagnosed and treated by excision.

Abstract

Juvenil fibroadenom adolesan ve genç bayanlarda en sık görülen meme kitlesidir. Dev fibroadenom genellikle tek taraflı ve tekdir. Etyolojide adolesan dönemdeki östrojen düzeyi yüksekliği suçlansa da nedeni tam olarak anlaşılamamıştır. Juvenil meme fibroadenomunda, lezyonun büyüklüğüne bağlı olarak lokal eksizyondan basit mastektomiye kadar değişen tedavi seçenekleri bulunmaktadır. Bu

makalede 16 yaşında, dev juvenil fibroadenom nedeniyle tanı ve tedavi uyguladığımız bir kız çocuğunu sunduk.
