RADIO BROADCASTING IN IRAN: A STUDY ON THE AUDIENCE

Abstract

The main objective of the study is to evaluate radio broadcasting in The Islamic Republic of Iran. Within the scope of the study, likes and choices of the radio audience have been analysed. The population of the study is composed of the people, having facebook accounts, who live in The Islamic Republic of Iran. The study has lasted approximately for one and a half month, and 200 persons have been included in the questionnaire which is composed of 3 independent variables and 5 different questions. According to the Factor analysis, Barlett test result has been 11112,632 (p<0.05). Having a satisfactory reliability result, the questionnaire, which hasn’t been changed, has been distributed to 400 participants. The results, got from the participants, have been analysed with SPSS 20.0 statistical package programme. At the end of the reliability analysis, Cronbach's Alpha coefficient has been measured as 0,902 and 0,913. In the light of the literature review, and data got from the participants, it has been found out that radio broadcasting has advanced in Iran, and there has been an increasing interest in pop music in spite of theocracy.
