Abstract
Yaklaşık iki yüz senedir, milliyetçilik gerek devrim gerekse bağımsızlık hareketlerinde başrol oynamıştır. Milliyetçi projelerin başarısı sayesinde bizler sanki uluslar hep varmış gibi düşünüyor, onlarsız bir dünya hayal edemiyoruz. Soğuk savaş sonrası yeniden şekillenen Uluslararası sistem, şu an iki temel çelişki ile karşı karşıya. Bir taraftan küreselleşme denen süreç hızla ilerlemeye devam ederken, diğer taraftan milliyetçi sesler yükselmektedir. Milliyetçiliğin karını-zararını aklı başında ölçebilmek için, olaylara tarihsel gelişim perspektifinden bakmak gerekir. Burada milliyetçiliğin Gelişim Milliyetçiliği olarak algılanması gerektiği tezi işlenecek, ki söz konusu olan milliyetçiliğin profili spesifik gelişim politik sorunsallıklarla temellendirilecek. Öyleyse milliyetçiliğin analizini yapmak için, tarihi gerçekleri karşılaştıran bir yaklaşım şarttır.
