Abstract

Hasta ve doktor arasındaki iletişim, sağlık hizmetlerinin sunulmasında vazgeçilmez bir unsurdur. Doktor hasta iletişimi alanını geliştiren çok sayıda çalışmaya rağmen, sosyo-ekonomik özellikler gibi belirgin doktor ve hasta özelliklerinin sağlık hizmetleri etkileşimi üzerindeki etkisi kesin olarak ortaya konulmamıştır.Bu çalışmada sosyo-ekonomik farklılıkların doktor-hasta iletişimi içerisinde nasıl ifade edildiğini değerlendirmek için yol gösterici bir kavramsal çerçeve sunmak amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda daha önce yapılan araştırmalara dayanarak doktorun, hastanın sosyal statüsüne göre farklı iletişim kurabildiğini ve hastaların da sosyal sınıflarına göre farklı bir iletişim tarzı benimseyebildiklerini söylemek mümkündür. Bu doğrultuda doktor hasta iletişimini geliştirmeye yönelik müdahale çalışmalarının yararlı olabileceği ve bu çabaların sağlıkta sosyoekonomik eşitsizliklerin üstesinden gelmede önemli çıkarımlar sağlayabileceği düşünülmektedir.
