Radyoterapi Uyguladığımız Rektum Adenokarsinomlu Hastalarımızın Tedavi Sonuçlarının Değerlendirilmesi

Year 2008, Volume: 41 Issue: 1, 25 - 28, 01.04.2008

Abstract

Two-hundred-eighty patients with rectum cancer treated in Radiation Oncology Department of Ankara Oncology Hospital bet-ween January 2000 - December 2004 reviewed retrospectively. Patients were analyzed for prognostic factors and survival. İn this study we evaluated 175 patients that can be reached with rectal carcinoma. Median age of the patients were 59. Overall 1, 2, 3, 4 years survival rates were 85%, 70%, 53 % and 37% respectively and median survival rate was 41 months. We found overall 1 and 4 years survival rates 85% and 61% for tumors located in upper part of the rectum, 80% and 14%> for tumors located in middle part of the rectum and 97% and 59% for distal rectal tumors. Differences between groups were statistically significant (p= 0.03). Lymph node metastases was evaluated as a prognostic fac-tor. One and 4 year sun/ival rates were 90% and 49% in patients with NO, 90% and 36% in patients with N1, 75% and 12% in patients with N2. Differences betvveen nodal involvement groups were not statistically significant (p= 0.16). One-hundred-forty-six patıerıts were operable, 19 patients were inoperable. One and 4 years sun/ival results of operated patients were 86% and 42%. For inoperated patients 1 and 4 years survival rates were 78% and 15%. Differences between operated and inoperated patients were statistically significant (p= 0.01). One and 4 years survival results of patients treated with concomittant chemora-diotherapy were 89% and 44%. One and 3 years survival results of patients treated with only radiotherapy were 85% and 32%. No patient was alive at 4 years.

Treatment Results of the Patients Treated with Radiotherapy with Rectum Cancer

Year 2008, Volume: 41 Issue: 1, 25 - 28, 01.04.2008
