Abstract

Schvvannomas are benign tumors of peripheral nerve sheath. Approximately half of schvvannomas locate in head and neck region. Schvvannomas originating from brachial plexus are rare couse of neck masses. A case of brachial plexus schvvannoma is presented in this report. Thirty-seven year-old man admitted to our clinic vvith a painless left neck mass consisting for two years. Histopathologic examination of fine needle aspiration vvas reported as benign mesenchimal tumor. The mass vvas excised. Abduction limitation vvas developed at left arm postoperatively. Excisional biopsy vvas reported as schvvannoma. Neck schvvannomas were discussed vvith this rare case.

Abstract

Schwarınomlar periferik sinir kılıflarından köken alan benign tümörlerdir. Schwannom olgularının yaklaşık yarısı baş-boyun bölgesinde yerleşir. Brakiyal pleksus kaynaklı schwannomlar boyun kitlelerinin nadir bir nedenidir. Makalede brakiyal pleksus kaynaklı schvvannom olgusu sunulmuştur, iki yıldır boyun sol tarafında ağrısız kitle bulunan 37 yaşında erkek hasta kliniğimize başvurdu, ince iğne aspirasyon biyopsisi benign mezenşimal tümör olarak rapor edilen hastanın kitlesi eksize edildi. Operasyon sonrası sol kolunda abdüksiyon kısıtlılığı gelişti. Patoloji sonucu schvvannom olarak rapor edildi. Bu nadir olgu ile birlikte boyun schvvannomları tartışılmıştır.
