İzole spinöz proses metastazı yapan non-small cell akciğer kanseri

Year 2011, Volume: 44 Issue: 1, 24 - 28, 01.04.2011

Abstract

The most common cause of spinal tumors is metastasis. Mostly, tumors originating from the lungs, breasts and the prostate lead to tumoral spinal metastasis. Metastases that exhibit isolated spinous process involvement are quite rare. Indicated early surgical intervention and maximum tumor resection are the most effective ways of improving quality of life. In this case report, we present the case of metastasis palpable in the thoracic region of a 60-year-old male patient which only involves the spinous process.

Non-small cell lung cancer with isolated spinous process metastasis

Year 2011, Volume: 44 Issue: 1, 24 - 28, 01.04.2011

Abstract

Spinal tümörlerin en sık sebebi metastazdır. Sıklıkla akciğer, meme ve prostattan kaynaklanan tümörler spinal metastaza neden olmaktadır. İzole spinöz proses tutulumu ile seyreden metastazlar oldukça nadirdir. Endikasyonlu erken cerrahi girişim ve maksimum tümör rezeksiyonu hayat kalitesinin sağlanmasında en önemli noktadır. Yazımızda 60 yaşında akciğer kanserli erkek hastanın torakal bölgesinde ele gelen ve sadece spinöz prosesi tutan metastazı tartışıldı.
