What the journal is for. Aerospace research has many outlets; defence engineering has few. ADENJ was founded to close that gap — to give rigorously conducted defence engineering research a permanent, indexed, internationally reviewed home, and to publish it alongside the aerospace disciplines with which it shares its methods. The journal’s name is a deliberate reference to the ADEN aviation cannon, marking both a heritage in aerospace engineering and a commitment to technical precision.
Editorial approach. ADENJ operates an international editorial board drawn predominantly from institutions outside the publishing country, so that evaluation is not shaped by any single national or institutional perspective. Every article is assessed under double-blind review by at least two independent external experts. Decisions are made on scientific merit alone, and the journal is editorially independent of its publisher, of sponsors, and of any industrial or governmental body.
Indexing. ADENJ is a newly established journal and makes no claim to indexing it has not obtained. Applications will be submitted to DOAJ, TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM TR Dizin, Scopus, and Web of Science (ESCI) as soon as the eligibility requirements of each are met. The journal’s infrastructure — public peer-review description, published ethics policy, registered ISSN, Crossref DOIs, English metadata for all articles, an international board, and a regular publication schedule — has been built to those criteria from the outset. Current indexing status is stated accurately on the journal homepage at all times.
