AMELOGENEZİS İMPERFEKTALI GENÇ ERİŞKİN BİR HASTANIN GEÇİCİ ESTETİK REHABİLİTASYONU: BİR OLGU RAPORU

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Amelogenezis İmperfekta tanısı konulan, genç erişkin bir hastanın overdenture protez ile rehabilitasyonu amaçlandı. Dişlerinin görüntüsü nedeniyle konuşmaktan / gülmekten çekinme ve hassasiyet şikâyetiyle kliniğe başvuran 15 yaşındaki kız hastada Amelogenezis İmperfekta, okluzal ilişkide problemler, gingivitis ve 11 numaralı dişin gömülü olduğu tespit edildi. Ortodontik tedavi yapılması uygun görülmeyen hastanın 36 ve 46 numaralı dişlerine vertikal boyut kaybının ilerlemesini engellemek amacıyla paslanmaz çelik kron uygulaması gerçekleştirildi. Hastanın tedaviye motivasyonunu artırmak ve psikolojik durumunun biraz düzeltilebilmesi amacıyla protetik uygulamadan önce 13, 21, 22, 23 numaralı dişlerine kompozit rezin uygulaması yapıldı. Hastadan alınan ölçünün ardından üst çeneye overdenture protez uygulandı. Kontrol seanslarında hastanın protezi rahatlıkla kullanabildiği, görünümünden oldukça memnun kaldığı, gülmekten çekinmediği ve daha iyi sosyal ilişkiler kurduğu öğrenildi. Sonuç olarak, Amelogenezis İmperfekta’lı hastalarda overdenture protez uygulamalarının estetik görünüm, fonksiyon, okluzyon, fonasyon ve psikolojik sağlık üzerinde olumlu etkiler oluşturduğu ve bireylerin yaşam kalitelerini yükselttiği söylenebilir.

TEMPORARY AESTHETIC REHABILITATION OF A YOUNG ADULT PATIENT WITH AMELOGENESIS IMPERFECTA: A CASE REPORT

Abstract

The aim of this study was to rehabilitate a young adult patient diagnosed with Amelogenesis Imperfecta with an overdenture prosthesis. The 15-year-old girl admitted to the clinic with hesitation from talking/ laughing because of appearance of her teeth and tenderness complaints. She has occlusal problems, gingivitis and impacted first upper incisor tooth besides Amelogenesis Imperfecta. Stainless steel crowns were applied to prevent progression of vertical size loss. In order to increase patient’s motivation for treatment and improve her psychological condition, composite resin was applied before prosthesis. Overdenture prosthesis was applied to upper jaw after the impression. During control sessions, it was learned that the patient could use the prosthesis easily and quite satisfied with her appearance, didn’t hesitate to laugh and had better social relations. As a result, overdenture applications in patients with Amelogenesis Imperfecta have positive effects on aesthetic appearance, function, occlusion, phonation and psychological health and improve the quality of life of individuals.
