An OVERVIEW of BULK-FILL COMPOSITE RESINS

Abstract

Dentists' expectation of both mechanical durability, aesthetic properties and ease of use in restoration of posterior teeth has created the need for the development of composite resins that are used routinely. For this purpose, the bulk fill technique and bulk fill composite resin materials applied with this technique have become widespread. Incremental technique of composites in order to reduce polymerization shrinkage, which is one of the most important problems of composite resins. It is recommended to be applied with (in layers). However, layered placement of composite resins increases the number of irradiation and treatment time, especially in deep cavities. Newly developed bulk fill composite resins contain advanced translucent structure and different photoactive initiators. Therefore, it can be placed in deep cavities as larger masses.
The purpose of this review is; to give general information about bulk fill composites and to present a literature review about its types, properties, and usage areas.

BULK-FILL KOMPOZİT REZİNLERE GENEL BAKIŞ

Abstract

Diş hekimlerinin posterior dişlerin restorasyonlarında hem mekanik dayanıklılık, hem estetik özellikler hem de kullanım kolaylığı beklentisi rutin kullanılan kompozit rezinlerin geliştirilmesi ihtiyacını doğurmuştur. Bu amaçla da son dönemde kullanılan bulk fill tekniği ve bu teknikle uygulanan bulk fill kompozit rezin materyaller yaygınlaşmıştır.
Kompozit rezinlerin en önemli problemlerinden olan polimerizasyon büzülmesini azaltabilmek adına kompozitlerin tabakalar hâlinde uygulanması önerilmektedir. Ancak kompozit rezinlerin tabakalı yerleştirmesi özellikle derin kavitelerde ışınlama sayısını ve tedavi süresini artırmaktadır. Yeni geliştirilen bulk fill kompozit rezinler ise gelişmiş translusent yapı ve farklı fotoaktif başlatıcı içermektedirler. Bundan dolayı da derin kavitelere daha büyük kütleler hâlinde yerleştirilebilmektedir.
Bu derlemenin amacı; bulk fill kompozitler hakkında genel bilgi vermek; çeşitleri, özellikleri, kullanım alanları hakkında bir literatür incelemesi sunmaktır.
