COVİD19 POZİTİF BİREYLERDE OLASI ORAL SEMPTOMLAR

Abstract

SARS-CoV-2 nin hücreye bağlanmasından sorumlu olan ACE2 reseptörlerini tükürük bezlerinde çok sayıda bulunmaktadır. Bu nedenle ACE2 reseptör dağılımına sahip hücreler, virüs için konak hücreler haline gelebilir ve dil, mucosa ve tükürük bezleri gibi organlarda ve dokularda enflamatuar tepkiye neden olabilir. Covid-19 un en belirgin semptomları ateş, baş ağrısı, boğaz ağrısı, öksürük, yorgunluk, Xerostomia( Ağız kuruluğu), hyposmia (Koku duyusunun azalması) veya dysosmia (Koku duyusunun kaybı), hypogeusia (Tat alma duyusunun azalması) veya dysgeusia (Tat alma duyusunun kaybı), diarrhoea, dyspnea (Nefes darlığı) ve pneumonia dır. Özellikle ağız kuruluğu ve oral lezyonlar, tat ve koku kaybından da önce ortaya çıkan erken semptomlardır. Bu nedenle oral belirtiler Covid-19’ un erken teşhisinde önemlidir. Oral hijyenin arttırılması ve periodontal tedavi, süperenfeksiyon riskini azaltıcı faktör olarak değerlendirilmelidir. Bu nedenle hem erken tanıda hem de oral hijyenin sağlanmasında Diş hekimlerine önemli görevler düşmektedir.
