Abstract

The aim of modern orthodontics is to establish the best occlusal relati- onship between maxillary and man- dibular teeth together with facial aesthetics. An attractive smile has become one of the most important elements of facial beauty. Nowa- days, due to the increase in aesthetic perception, the importance of den- tal aesthetics in treatment planning comes to the fore, and it is aimed to achieve a more aesthetic smile with the orthodontic treatment. This re- view article emphasis on the com- ponents to be considered for smile aesthetics in orthodontic treatment.
